About Evolution Explainer

Evolution Explainer is a free educational site. It explains how biological evolution works, in plain language, and corrects the myths that most often confuse people.

What this site is for

The site covers the basics of evolution, the evidence for it, common misconceptions, how evolution shows up in everyday life, and a few small interactive tools that let readers try out the ideas for themselves. Each article links to further reading, so a reader can go as deep as they want.

Who it is written for

The main readers are curious beginners who want a clear answer without a biology degree, students revising for an exam, and teachers who need a quick, accurate explanation they can point a class to. Articles start with plain words and only bring in a technical term once it is needed and explained.

How articles are written

Three rules guide every article on this site. First, the science has to be correct: articles are written to match mainstream, well-established biology, not a single author's opinion. Second, plain language comes first: a hard word is only used after it has been explained in simple terms. Third, claims come with evidence: articles point to real examples and to the sources behind them, instead of just asserting a fact.

Languages

Evolution Explainer is written first in English and translated into Hindi, Telugu, Spanish, Arabic, and Persian. Some languages currently have fewer articles than English. Where a translation is not ready yet, the site links to the English version instead, so a reader is never left without an answer.
